There's always a queue outside, and the waiting time is usually about an hour. This time, since I stayed in KL for the night and was awake very early, I decided to storm the Kopitiam and be among the first to have breakfast, eager to validate what is so good about the breakfast here.
Upon entry, I fell in love with the ambiance. Seated on an upper floor, I appreciated the whole architecture, which takes you back to the times spent in the kampung. The Kopitiam was buzzing with people, and the fragrance of kopi lingered in the air.
With that, I went ahead and ordered coffee for myself along with the local breakfast staple: toasted bread.
The Ipoh hor fun had been calling me, so I ordered a bowl of it.
My partner, on the other hand, opted for a plate of curry Chee Cheong fun.
The taste was good. However, there are other eateries where you can get a better breakfast spread and a more authentic one. I think people just love the ambiance there (like me) and they are willing to queue early in the morning to have their breakfast.
Anyhow, credit is still given for the history and tradition of Ho Kow Hainan Kopitiam, Kuala Lumpur.
Ambiance: 4/5
Service:4/5
Food: Muslim-friendly, typical breakfast spread
Price: $$$
Verdict: Enjoy the breakfast spread :)
