I have visited O&S Restaurant several times and have sampled a variety of their dishes.
Here are my top three recommendations:
1. Penang Char Kuey Teow
One dish that stands out is their Penang Char Kuey Teow. Instead of driving to Penang, you can enjoy this delicacy right here in this kopitiam. The service is quick, and the quality is consistently high. The dish is filled with wok hei, and the cockles are always fresh.
2. Wan Tan Mee
While I must admit that the wan tan mee in PJ New Town still holds a special place in my heart, the version here is also quite good. The noodles are flavorful, although the char siew is a bit on the lean side.
3. Penang Curry Laksa
I also tried the Penang Curry Laksa. Before diving in, squeeze the lime and mix in the sambal if you’re up for a spicy challenge. The combination of juicy, succulent chicken and fresh cockles makes this dish a winner.
Will I go there again?
Absolutely but I would choose the right time to avoid the lunch crowd. The stress of finding a table can be quite overwhelming.
Ambiance: 6/10
Price: $$$
Food: Chinese, non-halal
Service: Average
