Italian Feast at Osteria Gamberoni, Kuala Lumpur

I’ve started to fall in love with Kuala Lumpur. There’s so much to discover, so much to savor, and so much to admire. This time, I stumbled upon Gamberoni while wandering around the Chow Kit area late at night.

There was a time when we tried to avoid Chow Kit—it was typically considered unsafe. But now, it has transformed into a lively, vibrant neighborhood. The area is bustling with tourists, and the number of eateries has grown significantly.

Back to Gamberoni—it caught my attention from afar. It looked premium and expensive, yet it exuded a cozy and inviting atmosphere, tempting us to step inside.

The moment I walked in, I felt at ease. The staff informed us that the kitchen would be closing in ten minutes, so we quickly browsed the menu and selected a few dishes.

Before our main courses arrived, we were served a basket of bread accompanied by a few cloves of garlic. The bread was delightful, especially when paired with vinegar dips.

Next came a plate of Irish Oysters Half Dozen (RM88.00)—wow! They were incredibly fresh and raw, just as they should be.

The Calamari Fritti (RM38.00) wasn’t particularly extraordinary, but it made for a nice appetizer while we waited for our pizza.

We opted for the restaurant’s most popular pizza (Prosciutto e Tartufo - RM58.00)—the one most loved by diners—and thankfully, it did not disappoint. It was absolutely delicious!

Will I return?

Most likely! I’d love to unwind here with a glass or two of wine, soaking in the ambiance and enjoying the soothing background music after a long day.
