KomPassion: Smoked Duck Curry & Crab Fried Rice Highlights

I was told that KomPassion is one of the must-try Thai restaurants in town, and that recommendation certainly piqued my interest.

Reservations are strongly recommended to avoid long queues, especially if you’re dining in a large group. Even though we visited on a weekday, we made a booking just to be safe.

For a table of ten, we ordered quite a variety of dishes, as the portions were relatively small. Among everything we tried, a few dishes truly stood out and left a lasting impression.

Crunchy Water Spinach in KomPassion The crunchy water spinach was surprisingly addictive. I know it sounds like a simple dish you can find almost anywhere, but this version was exceptionally good—crispy, flavorful, and perfect as a snack while waiting for the main dishes.

Smoked Duck Thai Red Curry in KomPassionThe smoked duck Thai red curry was unique and memorable. It’s rare to find a well-executed fusion of smoked duck and Thai curry, but this combination worked beautifully and was incredibly appetizing.

The crab fried rice was another highlight, generously packed with chunks of crab meat. It was satisfying, well-balanced, and great for sharing.

Stir-Fried Chakram Vegetables in KomPassionThe stir-fried chakram vegetables were a pleasant surprise. I had never tried chakram before, and this dish completely blew my mind with its flavor and texture.

Other dishes we ordered included omelette, tentacles, sea bass, and more, rounding out a very hearty meal.

Will I return?

Yes—especially if I’m craving their crab fried rice or smoked duck Thai red curry. That said, the prices are on the higher side, and similar Thai dishes can be found elsewhere at a lower cost.
