JJ Chicken Rice Ball Melaka - Hidden Gem or Tourist Trap?

I chanced upon this new eatery during my recent trip to Melaka. It had been a year since my last visit, so spotting a new spot for chicken rice ball Melaka was a pleasant surprise, especially after having Melaka snacks at Poh Piah Lwee and a spread of Nyonya cuisine at The Kam Cheng. Highly recommended by the locals, we decided to drop by during lunch hour.

JJ Chicken Rice Ball Melaka

Here’s my verdict.

JJ Chicken Rice Ball Melaka

Both the steamed and roasted chicken were delicious—soft, juicy, and succulent. The only downside was that we were served chicken thigh, which had quite a few bones.

Claypot Vegetables JJ Chicken Rice Ball Melaka

The claypot vegetables were incredibly appetizing. Sour and spicy, they were truly mouthwatering.

Chicken Feet JJ Chicken Rice Ball Melaka

The chicken feet were enjoyable as well, with a hint of herbal aroma and flavor.

Braised Egg Tofu JJ Chicken RIce Ball Melaka

As for the braised egg and tofu, they were fairly average.

Will I return?

Yes—but I wouldn’t order the chicken rice balls again. I’m not particularly fond of the rice shaped into balls and would much rather have plain chicken rice instead.
