I was craving Korean food, and Palsaik Korean BBQ seemed like the best choice while wandering around Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Upon stepping into the restaurant, I was ushered to the nearest table.
I browsed the menu, and before long, we knew exactly what we wanted. Hunger may have had something to do with it—we ended up ordering quite a spread.
The side dishes arrived first, and we dove right in. Then, dish after dish followed, and here’s our take:
1. Chicken Bibimbap
It looked great, but the taste was just average. The rice was slightly overcooked, which gave a crispy texture at the bottom—some may enjoy that.
2. Kimchi Pancake
It was alright, but slightly overdone, which dulled the flavor of the kimchi.
3. Pork Belly & Pork and Chives BBQ
We ordered 200g of pork, served with a mountain of vegetables including chives and mushrooms. These were intended for the grill, and the variety of veggies was generous.
4. Japchae
This dish leaned on the pricier side, but unfortunately, the flavor didn’t quite match the cost. It was just okay.
Overall, the Korean food here was decent, but nothing particularly memorable.
Would I return?
Probably not—there are better Korean spots around that offer more satisfying flavors at more reasonable prices. That said, the ambiance here is lovely. It’s a great place to host guests if you’re after a stylish setting with a relaxing atmosphere.
