I am slowly falling in love with Kuala Lumpur. There is always something new to see, explore, and of course, indulge in. From hidden cafés to vibrant food spots, you can never get tired of being a tourist in your own country.
This time, I woke up early and made my way to Tapestry, one of the most talked-about brunch cafés in the Chow Kit area.
To make things easier, I decided to stay just across the road at Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur. It was incredibly convenient because Tapestry was literally a short walk away. In fact, we were probably among the first few customers to arrive that morning!
We ordered a few dishes during our visit, and here are the ones that are definitely worth mentioning.
1. Avocado Dream Smoothie Bowl
I know, I know — you might look at me differently now for ordering a smoothie bowl. But trust me, this one was really delicious.
It was the perfect way to start the morning on an empty stomach. Refreshing, nutritious, and beautifully presented, it felt like the kind of breakfast that energizes you for the rest of the day. Plus, you can never really go wrong with something that is both healthy and satisfying.
2. Tapestry Laksa Goreng
After starting the day with something healthy, there’s absolutely no harm in indulging a little.
The Tapestry Laksa Goreng was surprisingly good. The fusion of Thai tomyum flavors with pasta worked really well. It had the right balance of tangy, spicy, and savory notes, making it incredibly appetizing.
3. Roast Cabbage
This dish was on another level.
At first glance, the roasted cabbage may not look particularly exciting, but the flavor completely makes up for it. Once you take a bite, you’ll understand why it deserves a mention. It was flavorful, well-seasoned, and pleasantly satisfying.
4. Smoked Duck Sourdough
For those looking for something more filling, the Smoked Duck Sourdough is a great option.
The combination of smoked duck and crispy sourdough bread made the dish rich and hearty. It is perfect for anyone who wants a brunch meal that feels a little more substantial.
5. Mozzarella Croquette
Simple snack, best for sharing!
Other dishes that we ordered:
6. Salmon Avocado Sourdough
7. Bangers & Hash
Overall, Tapestry is a fantastic place for brunch gatherings. The café has a welcoming atmosphere that makes it ideal for catching up with friends, spending time with family, or simply enjoying a relaxing weekend breakfast. With its creative menu and cozy vibe, it’s easy to see why this café has become a favorite among brunch lovers in Kuala Lumpur.
