Tossing Yee Sang at Restaurant OUG Jade, Kuala Lumpur

It’s been a while...Yee Sang is one of my favourites during CNY as we can toss loudly with our family and friends while accompany with lots of good wishes and blessings for everyone at the dining table.

It was a shame last year that we couldn’t do it due to the pandemic. This year, we have slight freedom; we can toss it but with lots of precaution. If you are not well, please don’t attend any gatherings but just stay at home and watch your favourite movies. And for those who need to visit their relatives, please do a saliva test first. #kitajagakita

Anyway, it was good to finally meet friends whom we have not met for ages. And yee sang is just the best dish to have for reunion, as it also symbolizes prosperity. So, this time, we went toOUG Jade Restaurant and we had:

1. Yee Sang (small) - RM 103.00

Yee sang comes in a variety of ingredients and ours look like this. See photo. We chose jellyfish to accompany the yee sang and it was good. Fresh.

2. Pork ribs - RM 35.00

3. Pumpkin Tofu - RM 38.00

This caught my attention! Not a fan of pumpkin but this plate of tofu was enough to wow me. There was a layer of meat fillings in the tofu, and that strike a good balance. At least, you would not feel 'jelak' for having it. Personally, I enjoyed this dish.

4. Fish - RM 90.00

5. Vegetable - RM 20.00

Overall, having yee sang with a group of closed friends is indeed a pleasant experience. As I have not tried this place, I thought it’s good that we tried it. Once a while, bolehlah but not always as you might have to pay a hefty amount at the end of the day.

Parking is quite okay as you can park in the building.

Ambiance: For family and friends

Price: $$$$

Food: Non-halal, Chinese

Service: Moderate

Verdict: Must try Pumpkin Tofu
