Craving for some authentic Chinese food in Kuala Lumpur? Restaurant Sek Yuen might be the place for you

As one of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur serving Cantonese dishes, Restaurant Sek Yuen is a place that you should at least visit once. Like it or not, it really depends on one’s palate. Truth be told, many still love them, especially the older generation as they retain the traditional dishes and tastes while the restaurant is so homely, with friendly workers. No wonder, the restaurant has been ballooning, not just one outlet but several of them along Jalan Pudu.

When it comes to Chinese New Year, the thoughts of losing weight will be put aside, for now. Hey, it’s not every day you get to eat Chinese New Year cuisine and what's better is eating with your family members and loved ones.

For a small family that is around 3-5 people, these are some recommended dishes. Whereas for big families, stay tuned to my next post ????

Signature Pei-Pa duck

Signature Pei Pa Duck

Don't get confused, this is Pei Pa Duck, not Beijing Peking Duck or Braised Golden Duck. Delicious as the name says, the duck skin is thin and crispy. The meat is juicy and succulent. Dip them into the signature sauce, and voila, that's the Pei-Pa duck.

Kwai Fa Chi (Shark fins with egg)

Kwai Fa Chi (Shark Fins with Eggs)

I love this dish! So healthy — basically, use the lettuce and wrap the filling that contains crab meat, shark fins, eggs, carrots, and mushrooms. Once you put the fillings in the lettuce, top it with a dash of black vinegar.

Deep Fried Meat Balls

Perfect snacks!

Another dish we ordered that complemented our meal that day was an incredible plate of greenies

Stir-Fry Vegetables
