Thanks to social media, I decided to give this place a try. It looked fairly new, and despite it being a busy Friday, I managed to get a table.
From my research, Yuan Yee Tea Style specializes in Cantonese-style cooking, so you’ll find many familiar dishes on the menu. Since there were only three of us, we tried to be logical with our choices, though our appetites kept tempting us to order more!
1. Kung Poh Chicken in Yam Ring
Traditionally served at weddings, this dish is now available anytime you crave it. The chicken was fragrant, and the yam had a wonderful aroma.
2. Ying Yong Kailan
This was my favorite dish of the night! Crispy, fresh, and absolutely delightful—I enjoyed every bite. Somehow, I ended up finishing the entire plate!
3. Signature Tofu
You can’t go wrong with a restaurant’s signature dish, right? I loved it, though I found it slightly dry.
4. Fried Pork Belly
This dish leaned towards the salty side. Perhaps it’s meant to be paired with drinks rather than eaten with a bowl of rice.
Will I Return?
It depends—Kuchai Lama is packed with eateries, and I’d love to explore other places. However, if you’re craving Cantonese-style cuisine, Yuan Yee Tea Style is definitely worth a visit!
