When you have some time to spare but do not want to travel far, you could probably consider going to Farm Fresh UPM. Located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, it takes around 45 mins from Kuala Lumpur.
It is one of the newest attractions for families in the Klang Valley. It’s an educational and fun way to learn about nature besides taking the time to strengthen the bonding with your children. Nevertheless, before you head there, these are the five things that you need to know first.
1. It is very hot
It is an open space with plenty to see and walk around. However, there aren’t much shaded areas except the fruit and vegetable sections. I strongly recommend you apply sunscreen and bring an umbrella. Regardless of sunny or rainy days, at least you are protected under your little umbrella and not getting sunburnt.
2. Fresh milk available

If you are lucky enough, you would be able to buy this. And it cost me RM 11 for a bottle. You can also purchase some fresh vegetables which are sold between RM6 - RM6.50 per pack.
3. The Acre is a restaurant in the farm, selling 3 kinds of pizzas and spaghettis

It was a fairly easy decision to make, given that there are only 6 choices in total. We opted for Margherita Pizza since many actually ordered that as it comes with Pomodoro, buffalo mozzarella, sundries tomato, and basil pesto. For pasta, we opted for Al Funghi Orecchiettei; I have no idea how to pronounce this, lol. Verdict: the food was just so-so, not the best but bolehlah.

4. Educational corner

Did you know that the roof is made from recycled poly wood that came from 127,500 drink boxes? That’s a lot man! Besides, there are a few containers that have interesting insights about their sustainability initiatives and I suggest you go in, not just to learn but also, to enjoy the air-conditioned room. Haha!
5. There are other animals besides cows

For those who have not seen roosters, hens, and rabbits, you can see them here. Not just that, you can see a pony too, and if you are light enough, you can ride on it by paying RM10.
All in all, it was worth the experience, especially for children. Although the price is slightly on the higher side, from the entrance fee to food, snacks, and buying goods, I’m sure your kids will love it much. Just be prepared to bring a hand fan, and umbrella, and apply lots of sunblocks.
Bonus note: if you are up for a cart ride where they will bring you around the farm, go there early before the queue begins.
